May 8 - Curry leaf powder spice blend

One of the staples in a South Indian Pantry is a variety of chutney powders that are folded into freshly made rice to create a nutritious 'dry' rice dish that is usually paired with papads/appalams. I think the best way to describe it would be like the food yanked out on the days you don't want to cook. These days its ready to eat frozen entrees.
The bulk of the spice blend is just toasted lentils and dals, so its nutritious in terms of content, when paired with a choice of molten ghee or cold pressed sesame oil, the rice takes on  a fragrant avatar that just can't be beat.
In otherwords, a great dish to show case a day when we mom's want to have their day & eat too!
